In a phrase, “I am made in Hayward.” I attended public schools here and graduated from UC Berkeley with a double major. I come from a strong, hard-working Hayward family who taught me success in life was rooted in strong academics.
My Philosophy. I believe public service is essential to building a strong, stable community and practice what I preach. I served two terms on Hayward’s Community Services Commission. I also was appointed to serve as a member of H.A.R.D.’s Measure F1 Oversight Committee. Further, since I recognize students need positive role models to emulate, I have been a Hayward youth mentor for many years. I continue to mentor students and actively help them commit to civic engagement. As a UC student, I assisted many high school students with their school applications and mentored incoming freshmen so they could adapt to college life and find academic success. I also joined the Big Brother organization and have enjoyed watching my “little” brother become a successful small business owner.
I will be a role model that people, young and old, can trust and admire. I will visit HUSD schools and advocate for the use of technology to improve our schools’ ability to provide up-to-date learning facilities. My leadership will ensure students have the support they need to properly prepare for college and career success. I will restore trust in HUSD. Stand with me as I continue to advocate for our youth and for improvements in Hayward’s education system. Vote for me, Todd Davis. I will not disappoint you.
